At BMD we will to balance our impact on the environment with our continuous commitment to sustainable solutions. As an innovative mechanical and process engineering company we are working towards a net positive environmental impact.

Environmental

At BMD, we are committed to providing a quality service, in a safe and sustainable manner, and which minimises the potential impact of our activities on the environment. We operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, and we advocate pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

Protection of the Natural Environment

In line with Ireland’s Vision for Biodiversity and the National Biodiversity Action Plan, we aim to ensure biodiversity and ecosystems that may be impacted directly or indirectly as a result of our works are identified, managed and protected.

Sustainable Waste Management

As per the waste management hierarchy, managing waste means eliminating waste where possible; minimising waste where feasible; and reusing materials which might otherwise become waste. Our waste management objective aligns with the principals Irelands Waste Action Plan for a Circular Economy, where climate and environmental challenges are seen as opportunities and where everyone uses less resources and prevents waste to achieve sustainable economic growth.

We are committed to managing and improving our carbon efficiencies by, verifying our carbon baseline, carbon reduction measures, sequestration of carbon and supporting the transition to a circular economy in order to create positive value for society, economy and the environment.

The BMD governance structure enables accountability, transparency, integrity and clear communications throughout the organisation, and the Strategy of company objectives and being a fair and responsible business. The board of directors, and leadership team are committed to upholding a high standard of conduct and accountability, which is aligned to one of our company core values of Integrity.

Community Engagement and Charity Works

BMD is committed to supporting local development by creating jobs, supporting the local community and building community relationships.

We continue to work with local suppliers, engage with schools, community groups, charities and other interested parties as well as donating time and financial resources to initiate, assist and empower community improvements.

By integrating sustainability into community engagement and charity work, BMD can make a meaningful and lasting impact on both our environment and within our society.
