The Role – IT Software Support Engineer

Reporting to the IT Manager the role of the IT Software Support Engineer is to assist with the support and development of our in-house database systems. Main responsibility is to maintain and support an existing suite of custom in-house databases.

Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and track modifications to existing solutions and assist with development of new customised solutions.

Person Specification
Education, Training & Experience

  • 3rd Level qualification or equivalent in Software Support/Database Development
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the area of database management/development with experience in one or more of the following:
  • FileMaker
  • PHP
  • SQL
  • API’s
  • Microsoft Access
  • Dot Net
  • 4GL
  • Scripting – Powershell / Applescript
  • Accounts systems
  • Highly desirable: The position focuses on Database development, but a broader knowledge of IT systems would be an advantage.
